Information Overload Leaves Grain Markets in Limbo

USDA names dates of when reports will be released

Report

The last few days of January proved eventful for the grain markets, reports AgWeb. USDA announced when reports that were delayed by the 34-day government shutdown would be released.

“We’ve gone from a lack of information from the government to information overload, and that’s going to stretch to Feb. 22, which is shortly before they have their annual outlook forum,” says Jerry Gulke, president ofGulke Group.

According to the AgWeb report the general consensus of market analysts, Gulke says, is farmers will plan around 3 million to 4 million less soybeans in 2019 and plan 2 million to 3 million more corn acres.
