The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) has officially opened registration for its annual Equipment Manufacturers Conference (EMC), scheduled to take place from November 6-8 in Bonita Springs, Florida. This year’s conference theme, “Feed Industry 4.0 - Leveraging Emerging Technologies,” highlights the transformative role of new technologies in the animal food industry.

“We are extremely excited about this year’s Equipment Manufacturers Conference and look forward to welcoming both new attendees as well as past attendees,” said Gary Huddleston, AFIA’s director of feed manufacturing and regulatory affairs. “With this year’s theme centered on 'Feed Industry 4.0,' we look forward to showcasing how new technologies can drive efficiency, growth, and innovation in the animal food industry."

Hosted by AFIA’s Equipment Manufacturers Committee, the conference is designed to update the equipment sector of the feed industry on current issues and trends. It provides a platform for learning from educational speakers and industry leaders while also facilitating networking opportunities. The event will feature several educational sessions focusing on the role of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, updates on legislative and regulatory changes being discussed in Washington, D.C., and a panel discussion on how these emerging technologies can increase efficiency and productivity in the industry.

The three-day event will kick off with an annual golf tournament, which raises funds for the Institute for Feed Education and Research’s EMC scholarship fund. This program aims to encourage college students to consider careers in the feed or grain sciences.
