The U.S. ethanol industry is hoping England will soon become a bigger customer for its product, reports WEAU.
Reports out of the United Kingdom say it will soon increase the amount of ethanol in its gasoline from the current 5% up to 10%. And right now, its biofuel infrastructure isn’t big enough to meet the increased demand.
Last year, the U.S. exported 600,000 barrels of ethanol to the United Kingdom — down about 55,000 from 2019 when it blended about 4.7 million barrels into its domestic fuel supply.
