U.S. gasoline consumption will be 11% lower this year than in 2019 due to the coronavirus pandemic and the accompanying economic slowdown, said an Energy Department agency in a monthly report.
A report at Successful Farming says ethanol use will experience a similar decline, according to the Short-Term Energy Outlook.
The EIA said ethanol consumption would fall to 29 million gallons a day during the three-month period of April, May, and June.
For most of 2021, it said, ethanol consumption would average 38.3 million gallons a day.
