CHS and Cenex highlighting innovations in agricultural energy

Showcasing the evolving landscape of agricultural energy with expert insights and new technology at the Commodity Classic.

In a significant move to showcase advancements in agricultural energy, Cenex®, the energy brand of CHS, the nation's leading agribusiness cooperative, is making a strong presence at this year's industry events Commodity Classic. Embracing the theme 'new frontiers in agriculture', Cenex and CHS are set to deliver interactive presentations focusing on the evolution and future direction of agriculture energy, including insights into potential technological shifts in the sector.

Visitors to the exhibit are invited to engage directly with energy experts from Cenex and CHS. These professionals will share the latest developments in energy for agriculture. Key topics include the rise of renewable diesel fuels, the next generation of fuel and lubricant products, and the impact emerging energy sources may have on diesel and agricultural markets.

The presentations during the tradeshow will cover essential areas such as:

  • Critical information farmers should know about emerging energy sources.
  • The impact of transitioning to renewable fuels on crop production and producers.
  • The role of synthetic lubricating oils in future-proofing farms.
  • CHS's strategies in evolving energy solutions and preparing for the future.

Ron Batey, CHS Director of Refined Fuels Pricing and Economics, emphasized the growing options farmers will have regarding fuel for their operations. He pointed out that agriculture-based renewable fuel is a key part of a diverse approach to decarbonization. "At CHS and Cenex, we're observing a growing demand for renewable diesel," Batey said. He noted the rapid development of renewable diesel manufacturing, with new plants being planned, signaling a significant shift in diesel and agricultural markets. Batey also highlighted the anticipated influence of energy market demand on grain and animal feed markets, underscoring the importance of monitoring how energy changes will affect various key markets over time.

CHS is actively preparing for the emergence of new energy solutions, combining its expertise in both energy and agriculture. The cooperative is exploring the viability of new technologies to power rural America and is committed to leading the dynamic energy landscape in agriculture through innovation. The company welcomes discussions with customers and farmer-owners at important industry gatherings like the Commodity Classic, aiming to shape a sustainable and efficient future for agricultural energy.
