Bushel, a software technology company focused on the agricultural supply chain, held its annual Bushel Buddy Seat Conference on June 11-12. Nearly 200 agribusiness representatives from ag retailers, cooperatives, and grain companies attended to learn about industry trends and updates from Bushel. Key announcements included developments in customer relationship management (CRM), payment solutions, and the expansion of Bushel’s network.

Customer relationship management

Bushel showcased new CRM functionalities such as automated customer records, mobile and web access to comprehensive customer data, and a virtual assistant using generative AI. The CRM integrates with 15 enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, reducing manual data entry for agribusinesses.

“Transitioning roles in agriculture is challenging, but Bushel’s CRM tool can streamline customer data management, making it extremely effective,” said Zach Jans, Grain Manager of Prairie Grain Partners.

Payment solutions

Bushel introduced a digital login flow for farmers to manage lines of credit with Compeer Financial, enabling them to view loan details and make payments via Bushel Wallet. A new direct deposit feature simplifies ACH enrollment, enhancing payment data security and reducing fraud risks. This feature offers zero transaction fees and streamlined workflows for agribusinesses.

Bushel’s infrastructure supports seamless business transactions, making it an ideal partnership for us,” said Terry Hinds, Chief New Markets & Assurance Officer at Compeer Financial.

Network growth

Bushel now supports over 3,500 grain and ag retail facilities, representing more than 50% of U.S. and Canadian grain origination. This expanded network enhances efficiency and communication across the agricultural supply chain.

“We’ve developed a unified workflow solution for agribusinesses, connecting their data, people, and processes,” said Bushel CEO Jake Joraanstad. “These innovations improve life for agribusinesses on the Bushel platform.”

Generative AI for ScoularView

Bushel is collaborating with Scoular on a proof of concept to integrate a generative AI assistant into ScoularView, helping farmers with account queries.

“AI provides insights and simplifies workflows, allowing us to make better decisions and provide superior customer service,” said David Tomlinson, Chief Information Officer at Scoular.
