Compeer Financial announces new leadership

Stephanie Wise elected as Board Chair and Dan Erickson as Vice Chair, while Sara Jansen was welcomed to the Board.

Compeer Financial has announced significant changes to its Board of Directors. Stephanie Wise has been elected as the new Board Chair, with Dan Erickson assuming the role of Vice Chair. Additionally, Sara Jansen has been appointed as a new member of the Board.

Stephanie Wise, who succeeds Dave Peters as Board Chair, is a fifth-generation farmer specializing in corn, soybean, and popcorn. She brings extensive experience in agriculture, including involvement in crop protection and fertilizer sales, and operates a grain and milling business. Wise, who holds a bachelor's degree from Augustana College and an MBA from the University of Chicago, has served on Compeer's Board since 2015. Her term as Chair will extend until 2025. Wise, along with her husband Christopher, is also engaged in hobbies like antiquing and building renovation.

Dan Erickson, the newly elected Vice Chair, is a partner in a family farm operation in Alden, Minnesota. A South Dakota State University graduate with a degree in general agriculture, Erickson has been involved in various agricultural and community organizations, including the Minnesota Corn Growers Association and the Freeborn County Corn and Soybean Growers Association. His term on the Board is set to expire in 2025.

The appointment of Sarah Jansen to the Board of Directors adds significant experience in information technology and digital transformation. Jansen, with a career spanning over 30 years in Fortune 500 companies, has an extensive background in both consumer products and financial services. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. Jansen, who is also active in various professional and community initiatives, will serve on the Board until 2027.

Jase Wagner, President and CEO of Compeer Financial, expressed gratitude for the leadership of former Board Chair Dave Peters, noting his instrumental role in the organization's success. Peters will continue his involvement with Compeer Financial as a Director.

Compeer Financial, with a 15-member Board, plays a critical role in guiding the organization's business direction, operations, and client services. The cooperative, with assets totaling $30.4 billion, serves 144 counties across Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, offering a range of financial services to the agriculture sector and rural communities. As the third-largest cooperative in the Farm Credit System, Compeer Financial is dedicated to supporting rural America's aspirations and needs.
