Scholarships for college students

Since 2010, GreenStone Farm Credit Services has awarded over $435,000 in scholarships to undergraduate students. In 2024, they are continuing their commitment by offering up to $60,000 in scholarships to deserving students. The scholarships are available for both incoming college freshmen and current college students.

GreenStone will award up to $40,000 in scholarships to incoming college freshmen. Selected students attending a four-year college program will receive $2,000 each, while those attending a two-year college program will receive $1,000 each. These scholarships aim to provide financial support to students at the beginning of their academic journey in agriculture, timber, and natural resources.

The Dave Armstrong Scholarship Program, named after GreenStone's former CEO of 41 years, is designed to support current college students. Four students will be awarded a scholarship of $5,000 each. This program recognizes the dedication and hard work of students who have already made progress in their agricultural-related studies.

To be eligible for the scholarship program, applicants must meet certain criteria. They must be residents of GreenStone's territory, which includes Michigan and select counties in northeastern Wisconsin. Additionally, applicants must plan to study in an agricultural-related field, including timber and natural resources.

GreenStone values academic excellence and requires scholarship applicants to demonstrate a strong academic record. Scholarship applicants are encouraged to showcase their leadership skills and demonstrate active participation in their school, community, and agricultural activities. This requirement reflects GreenStone's belief in the importance of well-rounded individuals who can contribute positively to the industry and their communities.
