G3's port terminals have once again maintained their Green Marine certifications for 2023. All five terminals upheld their certifications, with G3’s Vancouver and Hamilton locations achieving near-perfect scores. Meanwhile, terminals in Thunder Bay, ON, Trois-Rivières, QC, and Québec City showed improvements in community relations, dry bulk handling and storage, and spill prevention.

Green Marine is a voluntary certification program for the North American marine industry, evaluating performance across seven indicators:

  • Air Emissions – Greenhouse gases and air pollutants
  • Community Impacts
  • Community Relations
  • Dry Bulk Handling and Storage
  • Environmental Leadership
  • Spill Prevention and Stormwater Management
  • Waste Management

“We’re proud of our commitment to Green Marine and the results we are achieving,” said G3 CEO Don Chapman. “Congratulations to the staff at all our port terminals who are driving these impressive results.”

Green Marine results are third-party verified every two years. While 2023 was a self-evaluation year, G3 terminals are already working to enhance their scores for 2024.
