Fire at Michigan Grain Elevator

Facility contained pesticides prompting evacuation of homes

A fire in a grain elevator containing pesticides prompted officials to evacuate homes near the Fowlerville, MI, facility Monday afternoon, reports the Livingston Daily.

Firefighters arrived at the blaze before 2 p.m. Residents were allowed back into their homes about an hour later.

Fowlerville Fire Chief John Wright said no one was injured and no cause has been determined.
