Units of the St. Henry, IN, Volunteer Fire Department responded Monday evening to an initial report of a fire in a grain bin at the former Weaver Popcorn facility, reports The Herald.
Fire Chief Steve Eckert said the fire was found to have actually involved a grain elevator and it was mostly extinguished by employee Eric Denu, who used a fire extinguisher, by the time fire trucks arrived.
Additionally, Eckert reported, firefighters determined the fire had not traveled into the grain transport area of the elevator.
