A pair of grain elevators have long been a local landmark in the southern Saskatchewan village of Torquay, but now only one of them is standing, reports the Regina Leader-Post.
Crews were called to the elevator at 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday to find a fully involved fire.
Firefighters were able to successfully keep the fire from spreading to the village’s other grain elevator and also stopped it from spreading into a nearby field. Unfortunately, the grain elevator itself could not be saved.
