Bloomberg Markets’ Manuel Baigorri and Eyk Henning reported on the continued merger of Bayer-Monsanto. The companies must sell billions in assets if the merger is to go forward. Among those lining up to make purchases are agri-business rivals BASF SE and Syngenta AG.
According to the report, the two companies have expressed interest in “canola, cottonseeds, the LibertyLink herbicide-resistant trait and its glufosinate weed killer.” The talks are still in the very early stages.
