Now in its fifth year, the Women in Agribusiness Demeter Award of Excellence has been bestowed upon some of the most innovative, action-oriented movers and shakers in the agribusiness sector.
This year, the scope of the award has been broadened, and nominations are now being accepted for women across the agribusiness value chain who have demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the sector.
“We’ve modified the award criteria to be more inclusive and representative of the members of our Women in Agribusiness (WIA) community, and the entire value chain in general,” says Joy O’Shaughnessy, managing director of Women in Agribusiness at HighQuest Group. “We’re looking for the best and the brightest, those with ideas that have changed businesses, motivated colleagues or removed barriers to success. We are looking for women who have achieved excellence in their field or demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the agribusiness industry.”
Criteria for nomination includes:
- Woman with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the ag and/or food industry
- Woman who is a positive example to other women in the industry
- Woman who breaks down barriers and serves as a resource for others
- Woman who consistently exemplifies professionalism
The recipient of this award, which is so named after Demeter, the goddess of the harvest from ancient Greek mythology, will receive her award at the 2018 Women in Agribusiness Summit in Denver, September 24-26 at the Hilton Denver City Center. The award recipient will be notified prior to being recognized at the event.
Entry form and guidelines for submissions are available on the Women in Agribusiness website. There is no limit to the number of entries; self-nominations will be accepted as well.
Nominations will be accepted through Friday, July 20, 2018.
