CHS Inc has announced the opening of its advanced CHS Crop Science Research and Development Center in Randolph, Minnesota. This facility represents a significant step forward in the company's commitment to agronomic innovation and product development.

Dean Hendrickson, Vice President for Crop Protection Research and Development at CHS, highlighted the center's crucial role in shaping the future of the CHS agronomic portfolio. The new research center, completed in January 2024, is equipped with state-of-the-art building materials that improve light transmission, enhance thermal efficiency, and extend the facility's lifespan.

A key feature of the center is its capability to simulate up to four growing seasons annually, replicating up to six different growing environments. This versatility allows CHS to reproduce conditions from multiple agricultural regions, ensuring that research trials are rigorous and meet the high standards that CHS customers expect.

Brian Kuehl, CHS Director of Product Development for Crop Protection, emphasized the importance of the research center in an era where agricultural retailers and distributors face an overwhelming influx of new products. The facility provides CHS with greater control over the research and development process, ensuring that new products not only meet stringent criteria but also come with the necessary efficacy data that customers require.

The CHS Crop Science Research and Development Center complements the in-field trials already conducted across CHS’s trade territory. This addition underscores CHS’s dedication to delivering the best products and services to its customers and owners.
